Entitled Karen next door throws a fit over resident parking in his own backyard, resident pulls up the deed as proof that he can: 'So the private road is your private road'

There is nothing more satisfying than proving to a nosy neighbor that they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. We all know that in every neighborhood, there is at least one resident who seems to go out of their way to tell everyone else what they should or should not be doing. This person might not even be on the HOA board, but that won't stop them from poking their nose around in other people's business. 

In this instance, the author had access to an alley that was technically part of his backyard, according to their documentation. However, his next-door neighbor believed this was a communal alley and immediately took issue with the fact that the author let his mother park her car temporarily in that area. When the author discovered a passive-aggressive note from the entitled lady next door, he knew it was time to pull up his receipts.

  • One cannot help but visualize this lady's reaction when she found out that this author was 100% entitled to park in the alley and that said alley was technically part of his private property, not the neighborhood's. You can just imagine her complaints when she returned home to whoever she lives with. You can't help but feel bad for the person who had to be on the receiving end of that nonsense.

    Neighbors across the street called the cops and they came and acknowledged that the car was fully on our property and not illegal to be there. But the officer had us move it anyways so they wouldn't keep

    calling. I mean not a big deal, but in my mind it made more sense for the officer to go there and tell the guy not to call 911 for non-emergencies instead of just reinforcing his behavior.

    But I was in my late 30s at the time, and the incident made me feel like a doom, idk, just a sad, dark feeling. Like is this how we end up? I think of it now and then, as a cautionary tale.
